The Colorado Language Arts Society is a state affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English, a professional association of educators in English studies, Literacy, and Language Arts.

CLAS is a sponsor of the Blue Spruce Book Award and the Colorado Teen Literature Conference.

Our partners at the Colorado Writing Project are offering summer workshops and seminars online at a cost of $300 for a two-week workshop and $100 for a two-day seminar. Please visit their website for more information and to register.

We are thrilled to be the state affiliate hosting the 110th Annual Convention of the National Council of Teachers of English in November 2020. While the convention has transitioned to a virtual setting, more details and registration will be available before July 31 on the convention website at https://convention.ncte.org/ .

Our most recent Fall Regional Conference was October 5, 2019 with keynotes by Cornelius Minor, Helen Thorpe, and Tanaya Winder at the Tivoli Student Union in Denver. The conference was co-sponsored by the NCTE Student Affiliate at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
