The Colorado Language Arts Society is a state affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English, a professional association of educators in English studies, Literacy, and Language Arts.

CLAS is a sponsor of the Blue Spruce Book Award and the Colorado Teen Literature Conference.

CLAS is currently in search of submissions for a Fall 2018 revival of our award-winning journal, Statement. Please visit the Publications page for more information on how to publish with us.

Our next Regional Fall Conference is October 6, 2018, with keynotes by teacher and author Penny Kittle, poet Camille Dungy, and 2015 National Teacher of the Year Shanna Peeples at the Tivoli Student Union in Denver. The conference is co-sponsored by the NCTE Student Affiliate at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

We are accepting session proposals through June 29, 2018.

Conference registration is $68 for pre-service and first-year teachers, and $100 for all other attendees. The cost includes a catered brown-bag lunch and one year's membership in Colorado Language Arts Society.
