The track, laid in 2004 is named for east coast track & field benefactor Irwin Belk. This is probably the second most-used facility in the nation after Oregon’s Hayward Field. These guys don’t play around; NC A&T has placed a bid for the 2013 World Junior Championships, and if successful it would be the first IAAF World Series outdoor track event ever held in the USA.
