Prior to 1996, Princeton's track was located in the former Palmer Stadium. The Princeton Invitational in the 1930s had some great mile matchups between the likes of Glenn Cunningham, Jack Lovelock and Gene Venzke.  The Palmer Stadium long jump record was held by Jesse Owens from 1936 until the stadium's demolition in 1997.
