September 12, 2016 "Fall Fête . . . Harvesting New Friends" for Frivolity, Friends and Future Members 6:00 - 8:00 PM Canton Garden Center 1615 Stadium Park Drive NW We begin a new College Club year by celebrating the harvest season at the beautiful Canton Garden Center.The seeds were planted, the crops grew tall and bountiful and the harvest is upon us. What do we do with all of those wonderful, home and locally grown foods? Please join us to learn about the local Farm to Table Movement, enjoy cooking demonstrations, gather recipes and enjoy a harvest dinner prepared from locally grown and raised foods. College Club hopes you will invite as many guests as you like to plant the seeds to grow our membership and to harvest new friendships! (Cost: $10.00 per person by reservation only Members and Prospective Members) 
October 15, 2016 "Honoring Jethro: The Training and Duties of a K9 Officer" Continental Breakfast - 10 A.M. Program at 10:30 A.M. Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW Jethro, a Canton K9 police officer, captured the hearts of the community and country in January, 2016, when he was shot and killed in the line of duty. Officer Eric Stanbro, Jethro's trainer, will share his story and how his loss has impacted the community and the Canton Police Department. You won't want to miss this behind the scenes look at the K9's training and role in police work, including detection programs in drugs and explosives. 
November 12, 2016 Vietnam, Fifty Years Later: A Journey Through the Eyes of an Art Teacher" Continental Breakfast at 10 A.M. Program at 10:30 A.M. Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW In the fall of 2015, Libby Frato Sweeney, along with her husband and four school-aged children, set off from their rural Hiram, OH, village for Hanoi, the Vietnam capital with a population of seven million. Libby taught at the middle school and university levels, experiencing the unique perspective of a Vietnamese art classroom. Libby and her family traveled as well to rural fishing villages, orphanages, fast-paced cities and everything in between. It was an eye-opening experience, and she's excited to share it with you. Libby will present many photos and stories to replace the images many people have of Vietnam from a war fought half a century ago.

Luncheon at 11:30 A.M. The Danbury of North Canton 181 Applegrove Street NE Come join us as we gather to celebrate the magical wonder of the Holiday Season. Seeking to embrace the warmth of friendships old and new, what better way than to share the breaking of bread! With good food, our College Club friends and stimulating conversation, we enter into the spirit of the season. To complete the experience, we have back by popular demand, Kevin DiSimone and Hilary James who will treat us to classics, show tunes and a sing-a-long of holiday favorites. Program at 10:30 A.M. Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW Canton  Shelley Schweitzer is Executive Director of Women's Impact, Inc., an organization that empowers the professionalism of women. There are still wide gaps in career expectations, professional respect, pay equity and behavior standards between men and women in this country. When women thrive in their family lives, their careers and their overall well-being, they dynamically empower all of society. Ms. Schweitzer's message is of following one's dreams and the positive impact of connection (whether to people or things), regardless of age or stage of life. Currently, as owner of SAS Organizing Solutions, LLC, Ms. Schweitzer provides professional organizing and project management services to small businesses and nonprofits. Entrepreneur, professional organizer, educator and volunteer, Shelley Ann Schweitzer has followed a career journey that has taken her from the newsroom to the informal classroom and from the symphony to summer camp. 
February 11, 2017 Planning the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Continental Breakfast at 10:00 A.M. Program at 10:30 A.M. Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW The annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival is the largest of its kind. Thousands come to Canton, Ohio, to celebrate the multi-days of public events from the Balloon Classic to the Grand Parade and enshrinement of the newly-elected football legends. Join us as Chris Gumpp, Director of Community Events and Sponsorships of the Canton Chamber of Commerce, shares how the staff and many volunteers bring this celebration to life. In October, 2004, Ms. Gumpp joined the staff of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Department of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce as Marketing and Event Manager. She brought with her 30 years of experience as a sales and public relations professional at Gasser Fine Jewelers, during which time she was an avid Enshrinement Festival volunteer. In her current role, she continues to secure more than one million dollars in sponsorships for the Enshrinement Festival events as well as the Chamber's largest business and community events, while also having significant involvement in marketing, public relations and event production.

Program at 10:30 A.M. Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW The Ohio Shakespeare Festival is a talented professional company dedicated to performing Shakespeare with all the wit and vitality the author intended. The College Club of Canton will be treated to a glorious production of "A Twelfth Night" beautifully adapted to our venue and time restraints. This delightful comedy is a fun and frothy frolic that promises to be a highlight of our 2016 - 2017 year. Enjoy! 
April 22, 2017 Raise Your Financial IQ Continental Breakfast at 10 A.M. Program at 10:30 A.M.  Trinity United Church of Christ 3909 Blackburn Road NW Jackie Cummings Koski's daughter was the catalyst and primary inspiration for her pursuing her dream of creating a financially-literate society. Ms. Koski is a Certified Educator in Personal Finance (CEPF*), dedicated to raising America's Financial IQ. She is author of the book, "Money Letters 2 My Daughter," which is the 2013 winner of the Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Award for Adults' Book of the Year, Money Management. As a leader in spreading the message of financial literacy, Ms. Koski serves on the Ohio Board of Directors of the Council for Economic Education and is a Director with the Ohio Chapter of BetterInvesting, the nation's largest non-profit organization dedicated to individual investment education. Bring your daughters and granddaughters to this special event as The College Club of Canton recognizes National Financial Literacy Month. 
May 13, 2017 Rock 'n Roll Into Summer (Scholarship and Annual Luncheon) Punch Bowl: 11:00 A.M. Luncheon: 11:30 A.M. The Quarry Golf Club 5650 Quarry Lake Drive SE Rock 'n roll into summer at the uniquely beautiful Quarry Golf Club located on the site of an 1800's quarry. Rock 'n roll is an important genre of music because it has the power to influence and sustain itself through generations. Just like College Club, it has paved the way for originality, self-expression and free thought . . . all marks of educated women. Plan to attend this end-of-the-year luncheon where we honor our Scholarship Loan and Ruth Wolter recipients. These worthy women are deserving of being celebrated as they move on to the next chapter in their education. If you're of a mind to don apparel from "the day" or not, jitterbug, jump, jive - just join us at this special event. Poodle skirts and saddle shoes are welcome! Additionally, you will also be introduced to your new officers for 2016 - 2017.
