Colin Symons Cooper
1926 - 2012

Colin died peacefully in the early hours of Saturday 25th August, 2012 after suffering a haemorrhagic stroke the previous evening. Characteristically, he was active to the last: writing; photographing butterflies at Ellen Terry's house; working on the stannexe (his coinage for the new studio annexe); playing the mandolin; buying an accordion for his grandson’s birthday; and, the day before he died, submitting his entry to The Sunday Times short story competition. He noted with disappointment the small print stating that the prize money would go to the 2nd place entry if the winner died before the announcement. He leaves his wife, Maureen, two sons, Dan and Ben, and grandson, Joe.
