My brother Mark and I acquired this 1936 Aeronca C3 G-ADRR in 2014, after many hours of work in 2016 she was ready to fly. Rob Millinship successfully did the test flying, her last previous flight was in 1948. She was imported to the UK from the US in 1989 when restoration commenced but was halted when she was put up for sale, then spent many years in storage.
Finished in Insignia blue and Ocala Orange with her polished aluminium cowling and trim, fitted with an "as new" JAP J99 engine and one of my own mahogany propellers. She regularly performs at the Shuttleworth air shows during the summer months flown either by Scott Butler or Mark Sharpe. |
