QUERY LETTER GUIDE

Here's the query letter format that Chris and I used with great success to land both a Hollywood agent and a book agent. It's also good for publishers.

The query letter should consist of No More Than One Page. And on that page there should be three crisp paragraphs. No more. No less.

1. A brief, exciting description of your project.

2. Why you are uniquely qualified to write it.

3. Ask whether you can send the script, with an accompanying treatment; or if a book - sample chapters and an outline.

That's it.

Now, sit back and try not to chew your nails too badly while waiting for the hoped for positive reply, be it by e-mail or snail mail.
