The Colchester Radio Amateurs club was formed in 1963 by a group of tutors and students at the Colchester Technical College (now the Colchester Institute). Meetings were held in the Radio laboratory and concentrated on practical work and measurement, taking advantage of the wide range of equipment available and some expert help.

Our program of talks on amateur radio topics utilises expertise available in the club and from other clubs in the area.
We meet on the third Thursday of the month at St Helena School, Sheepen Road, Colchester, CO3 3LE. All our meetings start at 7:30pm. (We are usually in the Drama Studio, but sometimes the school gives us one of the science labs or classrooms instead. If you can't find us, the caretaker will let you know where we are.)
