Test Valley Tour 2009

22nd November 2009 - Andover

The Test Valley Tour is an annual Endurance event. It's not really promoted as a race so I thought I'd turn up and see if I could do it. Following the NSPCC Charity ride, I thought that this would be a bit easier being only 45k. How wrong I was. This ride was by far the most gruelling I've done yet. The wet boggy conditions really sucked up all my effort and clocked the bike up. At one point, near the end, the back wheel became completely jammed with thick mud and I had to spend some time trying to get it all off with a stick. Several hours, a good deal of chain suck and wet, dirty gloves later I collapsed at the finish line. Did I mention that it was torrential rain conditions from the moment we started?
