The Films4Forests initiative was produced by Cockroach Films and our Indonesian production partners Gekko Studio for Films4Conservation. In addition to producing the films, the project enabled capacity building in film and digital media technology, developing our Indonesian partners' knowledge and use of web-streaming video to reach international audiences.

A three-day digital media-training workshop was attended by multiple grassroots NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) representatives from across Indonesia, who were taught basic camera use and documentary technique.

Its purpose was to extend the skillset within, and to expand upon the network between, small scale NGOs operating within Indonesia who often have shared goals or interests.

This was a pilot scheme for a network we are hoping to expand across Southeast Asia, promoting and enabling the use of film and the web as tools for attaining campaign or organisational aspirations.
