“Connect the Coastside” is a moniker given to the San Mateo County effort to develop a San Mateo County Midcoast and Half Moon Bay Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan, which is required by law.

The resulting plan will encompass all transportation (roads, highways, signage, signaling, bicycle lanes and paths, etc.) from the south end of the [Tom Lantos] Devil’s Slide Tunnel to the southern city limits of Half Moon Bay and Highway 92 west from Highway 1 to Interstate 280.

The Plan is supposedly to be “coordinated” with efforts by the County, the City of Half Moon Bay and the communities of Montara, Moss Beach, Princeton, El Granada and Miramar.

Oddly enough, the Connect the Coastside project uses the same consultants as those which were selected by the County. To date, it is unknown what the consultants are being paid or how they were selected.

The Consultants are:

  • Dyett-Bhatia, Urban Development Consultant

  • DKS Associates, Transportation Engineers

  • Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Mobility Development Agency

  • Flint Strategies, Communications
