Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary and ICC

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) is one of the dedicated volunteers of the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) in the Philippines. In April 2012, the organization was designated as a co-National Coordinator of ICC Philippines by Ocean Conservancy, a Washington-based NGO who is responsible for the worldwide coordination of ICC.

The PCGA is a voluntary uniformed non-government organization, formed with a military structure supporting the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), in promoting maritime safety, maritime search and rescue and marine environmental protection. The PCGA which is now under the leadership of Vice Admiral VALENTIN B PRIETO JR PCGA shall move forward in the promotion and protection of our oceans, beaches/coasts and waterways, to inspire changes in the behavior towards marine debris and bring about a stronger alliance for trash free seas.
