What is a wiki?

A wiki is a collaboratively built website based on template driven html pages using free open source online sites. The word 'wiki' is derived from the Hawaiian word for quick 'wiki wiki' - and is so called because it is quick and easy to create and maintain.

Take a look at the short introductory video to wikis from Common Craft.
