CenturyLink To Hold Informational Meetings on ALI Transition
Posted Apr 14, 2014, 8:51 AM by Daryl BransonFrom Tim Kunkleman, CenturyLink:"Colorado 911 Community,In coordination with the May 1st PUC 911 Task Force meeting and the recent notification letter CenturyLink mailed to the PSAPs, CenturyLink would like to invite you to a kickoff meeting regarding the ALI transition process for Colorado. For your convenience CenturyLink is scheduling two meetings that you can choose from. The first meeting will be on Thursday, April 17th and we’ll repeat the presentation on Monday, April 21st. There is no need to attend both meetings. Each meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. mountain. The Colorado PUC has graciously offered their hearing room so that it will be easier for everyone to access a webcast of the meeting.
The process is just underway and CenturyLink wants to make sure that everyone is informed every step of the way. We hope you’ll be able to attend one of the meetings as we begin to work on this important activity. We will provide additional details in the next couple of days and we look forward to meeting with all of you.

National 911 Program Office Issues New Funding Report
Posted Apr 12, 2014, 11:39 AM by Daryl BransonThe National 911 Program Office (911.gov) has published a new 911 funding report, Blue Ribbon Panel on 911 Funding: Report to the National 911 Program.From the Executive Summary: "This report is intended as a first step, a conversation starter, on the vital issue of future 911 funding options. Implicit in this report is the recognition that sufficient, reliable, and recurring funding for 911 is an essential component of public safety and homeland security in each state and the nation as a whole. In particular, upgrades to our country’s aging analog 911 infrastructure are urgently needed to provide the capabilities our citizens expect from modern telecommunications technology. This report explores various approaches to meet the needs of 911 in the twenty-first century."
