Bruce Kent Visits Bristol, 2nd April 2013

Bruce Kent spent a busy day in Bristol at the launch of the 'Scrap Trident' tour on Tuesday 2nd April.

The day started with a very successful street stall in Broadmead, with Bruce using a microphone to get the message across to the shoppers, and Bristol CND members distributing leaflets and collecting signatures for the 'Scrap Trident' petition – nearly 200 signatures in less than a couple of hours, which shows the level of opposition in Bristol to replacing Trident.

In the afternoon, Bruce was interviewed by Tony Gosling of Bristol Community Radio FM
The interview was broadcast on the ‘Dialect Radio’ show at 2:00 pm on Friday 5th April (see here), and Bruce was also broadcast on the  ‘Friday Drive Time’ show at 5:00 pm on Friday 5th April (see here,  Bruce is 39 minutes into the ‘First hour’ track).

In the evening, Bruce addressed a packed public meeting at Central Quaker Meeting House. The meeting was chaired by Kate Hudson, General Secretary of National CND and the other speakers were Tom Baldwin (Bristol And District Anti-Cuts Alliance), Andrew Burgin (from national Stop the War Coalition) and Thangam Debbonaire (Bristol West Labour Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate).
