As you may be aware, we are quickly approaching EAGLES elections. Below is an outline of the process and what you can expect in the next few months.
In accordance with our Bylaws, Bruce Hurlburt appointed the Election Committee, which consists of Rochelle Kiner, Eleanor Chan and Cindy Miksa.
Attached is the EAGLES Interest Form to be completed by those interested in running for a board position. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a Board member or Election Committee member. All nomination forms are due to an Election Committee member (Rochelle Kiner (CSD), Eleanor Chan (FASD), Cindy Miksa (CSD)) no later than 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
There are four positions up for election: two At-large, one Management and one Frontline. As you consider whether you would like to run for a position, please keep in mind that only members from the specific classification can run for the Management and Frontline position (for example, someone classified as a management employee is permitted to run for the Management position while a Frontline employee is only able to show interest in the Frontline position. Any classification (Frontline, Management or Professional) can seek election for the At-large positions. Please note: no more than one At-large position may be filled by a member from a specific city department. Currently, filled At-large positions include a member from the Police Department (PD) and a member from Information Technology Department (IT) so members of those two departments may not run for the At-large openings.
In addition, only dues paying members can hold office. The Election Committee will use the most recent available list of dues-paying members to determine eligibility.
All nominations are due no later than 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 (which must be signed by the interested party) and shall be submitted to any member of the Election Committee. The Election Committee will provide ballots to the membership no later than December 10, and all ballots are due back by December 18. Remember, only dues paying members may vote in the election. If you have an interest in voting you must submit the appropriate paperwork to HR/Payroll by December 1. You can find the dues form on the EAGLES website at https://sites.google.com/site/cmveagles/
New members on the Board will take office on February 1, 2015.
Should you have any questions throughout the process, please feel free to contact an Election Committee or Board member. This is a big year EAGLES... help us make this year a success, by joining the Board.
