Hello EAGLES,
On Tuesday April 28th the City Council had an item to: Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager or Her Designee to Amend the Memorandum of Understanding Between the EAGLES and the City of Mountain View, for the Period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, to be read in title only, further reading waived (Attachment 1 to the Council report).

The item passed with all Council Members voting in favor of the resolution. The agreement is for July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. Although happy we were able to help with a quick turn around and what the Negotiating team feels was reasonable based on the economic realities we were and will continue to face we were hoping that all of the bargaining units would end up with the same deal. Police and Fire received an additional percent for their COLA. The team felt it important to address this outright instead of rumors or misunderstandings. It seems that Police and Fire will generally receive a better deal based on general public support for their services and currently the added hazard of their work. We do not feel we missed out for this reason. The Board and Negotiation team strive to make things as equitable as possible.
We hope the economy recovers quickly and we can negotiate with better circumstances for future negotiations.
