A national conference on reclaiming vacant properties is expected to draw more than 800 people to Cleveland for three days of informational seminars, workshops and discussion, October 13-15. The conference will be in the Renaissance Hotel on Public Square.
The UDLC is both directly and indirectly involved. Clinical faculty are making several presentations and clinic associates are involved in preparing materials, arranging for CLE credit from most states, providing logistical support for workshops, hosting and other tasks important to a successful conference. We are sponsoring the VIP reception.
Cleveland was chosen as the site for this year's conference because of the range of cutting-edge work on reclaiming vacant properties being done by the nonprofit development organizations and local governments in the Cleveland area. Thus, our clientele and, indirectly, the legal work we do with them, are a main feature of the event.
This is be the largest conference ever to focus directly on the problems and solutions in the recovery of residential and other urban property abandoned due to economic and social change.
