In November 2009, Andrew attended the Dispute Board Federation’s Winter Symposium in Istanbul Turkey. He was the only attendee from the United States.

It was a great symposium, with representatives from all over the world. The quality of the professional attendees of the Dispute Board Federation was unprecedented, exhibiting the highest quality of expertise and knowledge. All were found to be dedicated to the concept of resolving disputes at an early stage to enhance the success of the projects. The dispute board process was found to be the leading edge of revolution of disputes in the Construction industry and was found to be catching on throughout the world. It was found that the United Kingdom is the biggest promoter of the dispute board process. Andrew is proud to be one of its professional members.

This is something that must be an element in their success in resolving disputes, or maybe just keeping one’s sanity. The Conference contained valuable information that help all the members in their work as DRB members. Many members from outside of the US were also present. All in all, it was apparent that the DB process is spreading like a wild fire throughout the construction industry because of the success that it has had in significantly reducing the number of disputes throughout the industries. The DRB Foundations new focus is "vertical construction" an area that could greatly benefit from the DRB process. The challenge is to get this information in the hands of the project owner and Contract specifier. Andrew is honored to be one of its members and is excited to help promote the DRB process in Texas, his home state.
