7. Chinmaya Maauli Ashram

In a world that’s growing increasingly materialstic and the pursuit of material gain becoming the focus of our lives, we seem to have stifled the spirituality and divinity inherently present in all of us.  Somewhere along the way, we have lost touch with our inner self, leading to a dichotomy between the emotions in the mind and the thoughts in the intellect.  Hence, stress, unrest, unhappiness, loss of peace . . . have become part and parcel of life.

Swami Chinmayananda, one of the spiritual giants of the modern world, was a sage, philosopher, thinker, teacher and writer, all rolled into one.  He propounded Vedanta, not just as a religious text, but as "The Science of Living”.  Fondly called Gurudev by his followers, His teachings, although based on ancient texts, were made relevant to the modern world and served as an inspiration to take on the challenges of everyday life.  He initiated the Chinmaya Movement with the mission to spread the message of spiritual awakening and selfless service.

V ision

“To provide to individuals, from any background, the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to society”.

C      hinmaya Maauli – Projecting Vedanta

In keeping with the Vision to propagate Swami Chinmayananda’s philosophy, Chinmaya Mission Pune plans to establish Chinmaya Maauli.

·        Centre for re-invigorating Indian culture.

·       Memorial for marking the birthplace of the Chinmaya Movement.

A       pt Location

Pune is the city where Swami Chinmayananda started His First Yagna on 31st December 1951 and is hence considered the Birthplace of the Chinmaya Movement.

Chinmaya Maauli is coming up at Lohegaon, 4 kms. from the Pune Airport, over an area of 2 acres. Construction work has already begun.
