Jamatia Biplab

First of all I would like to express my heartiest gratitude to my near and dear ones, especially my parents, whose innocent healing touch and support helped me to reach my present stage.  I belong to a small tribal village of Tripura and I studied in three different schools in Tripura. I completed my MBBS from B. R. D Medical College in Gorakhpur in 2000. It was my first time away from home and there I experienced the reality of the world. After my MBBS, I joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 2001 for MD (Community Medicine). AIIMS was a refreshing experience for me and I learnt a lot of good things there. There after, I joined the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in 2004 as Lecturer in School of Heatlh Sciences and I am still working here, now as a Senior Lecturer in the same School. At present I am looking after PG Diploma in Clinical Cardiology programme at national level as programme coordinator. In IGNOU, I got opportunity to develop and design a programme for medical profession which is very much needed for the country. I love reading books, listening to musics, watching movies, travelling, cooking, and photography. To promote the social and cultural aspect of Tripuri people, I joined Delhi Tripura Society of which I am presently the President. I have also developed a website for the society. I strongly believe that I can build a system for better tomorrow. The question I am having in my mind is that, 'what you have done for which you have not been paid?' I hope that I will be able to do some constructive work within 10 years which will answer this question.
