The Billy Hogan Memorial Shield
What a beautiful day we had yesterday Sunday 12/10/14 as we hosted Ballylooby and Newcastle in our U/12 Hurling Blitz for The Billy Hogan Memorial Shield. The first game saw our two guests facing each other and after a well contested game Ballylooby emerged winners. We then faced Newcastle and after a tight opening Jack Connolly scored a rapid hat- trick to put us in a commanding position. The destination of The Shield was to be decided in the final game between ourselves and Ballylooby and going on the previous two games it looked like it was going to be a close encounter but from the start our lads put in a huge effort and goals from Jack Connolly, Fabian Kerton and Adam Lonergan put us on the road to victory. This was a great team performance and it was great to see a bit of success as we come to the end of this season. This team has come a long way from when we started and a lot of credit must go to Pajoe Kerton, Ciarán Barrett and Tommy Murphy for the hard work they put in coaching. I don't usually single out players for special mention but even his team mates would agree that Jack Moore was outstanding and he was closely followed by captain Fabian Kerton.

This day could not have happened without the considerable efforts of a lot of club members. Firstly Fiona Gregory, Sharon Conron and Gina Burns who done a marvellous job on the catering as they always do. Catherine Murphy, Catherine O' Meara and Elaine Downey who helped co- ordinate affairs, Jack Downey and Cian O' Sullivan who help out in officiating , Mark Dillon for his help in setting up the pitch
and the parents who attended yesterday supporting the team and for their help in supplying the refreshments we really appreciate your efforts and Ali Yousif who could not be there yesterday but still helped out with the preparations . A huge thanks to Ballylooby and Newcastle for their part in a very enjoyable day for everybody.

Under 12 Hurling
The curtain came down on our season with defeat against Ballylooby in the Quarter Final of The South Tipperary Shield. There are no excuses we were beaten by the better side on the day and we wish them the best of luck in the semi- final. We were without Jack Moore injured and Adam Lonergan sick which did not help and we wish them a speedy recovery.
It has been a pleasure working with this squad their commitment to the club and the enjoyment they gave us was outstanding. A lot of these boys and girls never played organised football or hurling before and their progress has been tremendous and they deserve great credit for that. A big thanks to all the squad and we look forward to working with them all again in 2015,
