The Clumber who started it all...

April 29, 1993 - May 6, 2006

Kipper came to us in 2001 through Clumber rescue.  I had fallen in love with the breed in a book.  Later, I contacted the CSCA's wonderful rescue team.  After sending an application and meeting several CSCA members and Kipper, he became part of our pack (OK, it was a small pack consisting of Michael, me and Kipper) in August, 2001, at  approximately 8 years young.

We often said that Kipper was the perfect dog for us.  He was a great friend and companion, and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this breed!  Through Kipper, we met many people who have since become good friends.

We lost him in May, 2006, one week past his 13th birthday.  We still miss him like crazy but have some great memories, including the pictures shown here.

It's a long way up those stairs...

Kipper with his friend June in 2005.  June comes from UK to do the "birdiness" testing every year at the CSCA's national specialty event.  Kipper tested when he was 12 years old, and we found out that he had a passion for birds!
