I am a Scientist at the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy (ICYFP), Heller School of Management and Social Policy, Brandeis University.
I hold a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Mannheim in Germany. Before joining the ICYFP, I was David E. Bell Postdoctoral Fellow and research associate at the Center for Population and Development Studies, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. My research has focused on understanding the causes of youth unemployment. More recently, I have examined the impact of economic downturns and job loss on cardiovascular disease and mortality, and the impact of climate change on well-being. My research has appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Public Health, European Sociological Review, and Environmental Research.
