I am a Research Scientist at the Institute for Child, Youth and Family Policy (ICYFP), Heller School of Management and Social Policy, Brandeis University.
I hold a PhD in Sociology from the University of Mannheim, Germany. My research has focused on structural and institutional causes of youth unemployment in Eastern and Western Europe. More recently, I have examined the impact of economic downturns and job loss on cardiovascular disease and mortality among older workers. My research has appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology, the American Journal of Public Health, and the European Sociological Review.
