Clean Drain Campaign

The Baltimore Clean Drain Campaign is a public awareness campaign to keep our homes and streams free of sewage. Baltimore schools compete in a friendly competition to collect pledges from parents, students, and city residents. Winning schools get cash prizes!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.


1. ELIGIBILITY: Any natural person who is a resident of the City of Baltimore, MD may participate and assign their pledge to a participating school of their choice. This competition is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. 

2. SPONSOR: The Sponsor is Ridge to Reefs, 6618 Stirrup Ct, Sykesville, MD 21784.

3. TO PLEDGE: Pledging opens at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on May 5th and ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time (“ET”) on May 24th. Pledges are counted only for those who completely fill out the pledge form and select one of the following schools to receive their pledge:
  • Dr. Bernard Harris, Sr. Elementary School
  • Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School
  • Robert W Coleman Elementary School
  • Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School
Limit one pledge per email address. 

Each school that sends a photo of one or more student-signed posters will receive credit for 50 pledges. 
 
4. PRIZES: The sponsor will distribute $5,000 in cash donations to participating schools, as follows:
  • First Prize: $2250
  • Second Place: $1250
  • Third Place: $750
  • Runner Up: $250
Placement will be determined by the number of pledges, divided by the number of enrolled students.

5. CLAIMING PRIZE/RELEASE: Official Results will be published on DPW’s website on or about May 30th.  All contestants will be notified of the results via email on or about May 30th, 2019. Winning schools will then be notified and arrangements will be for each winning school to receive its portion of the donations.


7. INTERNET: If for any reason, this contest is not capable of running as planned due to a computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the contest, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Submissions. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Sponsor due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading any materials in this contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of any entry based on an E-mail address, the entry will be declared made by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the e-mail address submitted at time of Submission. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person, 18 years of age or older, who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, education institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Use of automated devices is not valid for Submission. 

8. GENERAL: In regard to the prizes, no substitution, assignment, or transfer is permitted except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that an offered prize is unavailable. By entering the contest, each participant (1) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions; (2) agrees to release The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore (“Baltimore City”), Sponsor, its member jurisdictions; vendors; affiliates, subsidiaries; and all related entities from all liability, claims, action, or proceedings relating to participation in the contest and from injuries or damages relating to the acceptance or use of the prize; and (3) consent to the use of the contestant's name, voice, pictures, likeness, and entry for editorial, publicity, advertising and promotional purposes in any medium throughout the world in perpetuity without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. 

9. NAME OF GRANT RECIPIENT/TERMS AND CONDITIONS: To receive the names of the winners after the winners are announced,or to receive a copy of the Terms and Conditions, send a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope to: “Baltimore Clean Drain Campaign”, c/o Water Words That Work, LLC, PO Box 277, Frederick, MD 21705.

The Sponsor and Ridge to Reefs have created this privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") in order to disclose our information gathering and dissemination practices. By participating in promotions or contests offered by the Sponsor, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of Personal and Organizational Information (as defined below) that we collect when you enter any contests and/or agree to receive communications from us via email and related services.

It is important that visitors are fully informed about the use of their Personal Information.

1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM YOU: By registering to participate in contests offered by the SPONSOR, users may provide "Personal Information." For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, Personal Information shall mean individually identifiable information from or about an individual including, but not limited to: (a) a first and last name; (b) mailing or physical address for themselves or an organization they represent, including street name and name of city or town; (c) an e-mail address; (d) a telephone number; and/or (e) any other information from or about an individual that is combined with any of (a) through (d) above.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION: We will use your Personal Information to determine whether you are eligible to participate in this contest, sign the pledge, and/or receive the prizes. We will use your Personal Information for customer service, to provide you with information that you may request, to provide you with information regarding new services or Promotions available at the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website, to customize your experience on the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website and/or to contact you when necessary in connection with transactions entered into by you on the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website. We may also use your Personal Information for internal business purposes, such as analyzing and managing our business.

3. MARYLAND PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT: Any information submitted by Contestant, Sponsor, or any other individual to Baltimore City, may constitute a record which is subject to inspection by any member of the public pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act (“MPIA”), Maryland Code, General Provisions Article (“GP”) §§ 4-101 through 4-601.  Baltimore City reserves the right, pursuant to the mandates of the MPIA, to reproduce and distribute to the public any documents, data, studies and reports prepared or assembled by Contestant, Sponsor, or any other individual pursuant to this Contest.

4. PERSONAL INFORMATION GOOGLE AND MAILCHIMP COLLECTS FROM YOU
Google and MailChimp provide the software for the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website, online pledge form, map, and contest tally. The Sponsor and Ridge to Reefs do not control Google and MailChimp’s use of information you provide when you visit the site or sign the pledge form. 5. YOUR IP ADDRESS: Each time that you visit the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website, our web server automatically recognizes your IP address and the web page from which you came. Your IP address is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information about you. We also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our servers, to administer the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website and to better serve you in using the services and other features contained within the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website.

6. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES: Please be aware that the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website may contain links to other websites on the Internet that are owned and/or operated by third parties. Such websites have their own privacy policies and data collection, use and disclosure practices. Please review each applicable website's privacy policy. We do not endorse, nor are we responsible for, the accuracy of the privacy policies and/or terms and conditions of each of the advertisers' and/or third parties' websites accessible through this Website. The entities that advertise and/or place banner ads on the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website are independent third parties and are not affiliated with us. 8. MINORS: Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) are not permitted to register for or participate in any of the Promotions that we offer. No information should be submitted to, or posted at the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website by individuals under the age of eighteen (18) without the prior consent of their parent or guardian. Notwithstanding the foregoing, children thirteen (13) years of age and younger are not permitted to access the www.CleanDrainCampaign.org website and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from such children. 9. REMOVAL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION/OPTING OUT: At your request, we will remove from our database Personal Information that you have provided to us. You may do so by sending an email to info@cleandraincampaign.com

10.YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS: By using the www.cleandraincampaign.org Website including, without limitation, registering for and entering any Promotion, signing up for offers and/or continuing to receive information from us, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add and/or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time.
