The Coalition brought Rachel's Challenge to Canyon Lake Schools in September, 2012. Presentations at Startzville Elementary, Rebecca Creek Elementary, Mountain Valley Middle and Canyon Lake High culminated in an evening for parents and community members.
Rachel Scott was the first victim at Columbine High on April 20, 1999. But Rachel left behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that we can all choose to emulate.
In her own words, she wrote, "I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same."
This is the "chain reaction" we hope to promote in Canyon Lake; to inspire students, parents, teachers, and community members to put a little more kindness into their day, for each person they meet.
