The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation is a 501c3 organization that hosts charity auctions showcasing today's hottest celebrity attire. Items are put up for bid to the public with proceeds going to benefit children's charities. Clothes Off Our Back was founded by actors and philanthropists Jane Kaczmarek ("Malcolm In The Middle," "Raising the Bar") and Bradley Whitford ("The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") whose efforts, along with their celebrity and designer friends have helped improve the lives of children across the globe.
On 3/9/09, 'Success' magazine did a feature story on the 'Clothes Off Our Backs' charity auctions. Clay has provided items for these on a couple of occasions, most notably the time mentioned in the article. Various parts of his 'Emmys' outfit from his stint reporting with 'The Insider' brought in $26,000 total. One of his shirts also was the top seller in an Idol-based auction held by Kim Locke for the organization.
From May - June 2007 Kim Locke held an auction for Clothes off our Backs. Kim's auction raised over $16,000 dollars for charity. The winning bid for Clay's shirt was $4,020.
From 9/22/05 - 9/30/05 The Clothes off our back charity started by Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek that sells items worn by celebrities at special occasions like the Emmy's and Oscars held a Post Emmy auction. At the end of the auction, the tuxedo, shoes, and cufflinks that Clay wore to the 2005 Emmy Awards went for a final amazing total of 27,250 dollars.
