Lesson for Management

A good lesson is the foundation of classroom management.  A good lesson plan is done ahead of time.  It is well planned, engaging, and age appropriate.  The lesson plan has a balance of different instructional strategies including direct instruction, cooperative learning, discovery learning, and independent work.  It follows a natural progression of content that includes smooth transitions.  The closing includes a reflection or assessment.

This lesson plan includes:
  • age appropriate content
  • anticipatory set
  • assessment
  • academic language
  • materials
  • progression of content
  • differentiated instruction
  • goals
  • objectives
