Second Grade Memories

What Are We Learning About In Our Classroom?

Our current unit of study is-- Unit 6: Great Readers Monitor and Organize Ideas and Information.

This week (4/4-4/8), we are revisiting Visualizing.
Monday: Good readers compare their mental images to those of the author
Tuesday: Good readers use background knowledge to visualize
Wednesday: Good readers use words and phrases to visualize
Thursday: Good readers compare their mental images with those of others
Friday: Good readers use visualizing to connect familiar and new ideas

Social Studies/Science

Our current unit of study in Social Studies is People at Work. We are currently working on a Project-Based Learning Unit titled: "Who's In Our Neighborhood?". Stay tuned for links to see finished student work.

We just finished up our study of Poetry.  Now, we are moving on to Persuasive Writing in which we will be writing literary essays to express our opinion on a topic.
