DDR (East Germany) alltimetable 1st level 1949/50 - 1990/91

Special thanks goes to Jan Schoenmakers and Wikipeda for supplying most of the information on which this table is based. Table overhauled and corrected in Jan. 2010. 1946/47 up to and including 1948/49; during these seasons no national championships were played, only regional ones. Concerning namechanges; scroll down the page. The issue of teams changing names have been rather confusing concering DDR. For example, Dynamo Dresden. They were relocated to Berlin under another name, but to get the statistics right and fair I decided to count Dynamo Dresden and the relocated team as one and the same, see below. To further complicate things, Dynamo Dresden, from the mid-sixties again played at the highest level in DDR. But, in this table the Dynamo Dresden of today and the Dynamo Dresden of the fifties (the team that was relocated) are not counted as one and the same. Several other teams were also relocated.
