Greetings new Clarkies!  As you begin your Freshmen year, Eco-Reps would love to welcome you to campus!  In case you aren't aware, sustainability at Clark has been on the rise in the last few years.  For the first time ever, Clark has been named to the Sierra Club's list of Green Schools, at number 17!! The founding of Eco-Reps in 2009, and our inclusion in Clark's Climate Action Plan, has made Eco-Reps a central part of Sustainable Clark and our ascent into the greenest schools in the country!  However, Clark is only as green as its students make it, and thus we need you to continue the tradition!!!

During Week One you will see a lot of us, we will be one of the only student-run organizations at the Student Resource Fair on Thursday, August 23rd (as we have become integral in helping students in their personal efforts to be green on campus) and again you'll see us at the Student Activities Fair for clubs on Friday August 31st.  Our General Interest Meeting will likely take place on Tuesday, September 4th (time and location TBD), and applications (see Join Now!) will be due by the end of that week. Don't be a stranger! Come and talk to us so we can get you involved in Clark's green movement!

Clark Eco-Reps is an integral part of campus, and we work directly with Sustainable Clark in ensuring a green community on campus.  Right now we're working to implement a campus wide in-dorm composting program (expanding the current program in the University Center).  We're in charge of organizing Clark's Earth Day festival (Go Green on the Green!) and hold the original fall Sustainable Supper which you will hear about in September or October.  We also run the Hall vs Hall Sustainability Competition at Clark in the Fall.  These are only our major events, and we hold numerous lights off hours (often with stargazing or campfires!) and other mini-events (farmer's market trips in the fall!).

Doing all of this work and more requires dedicated members.  You can make a difference in your community starting your freshmen year!  See Join Now to learn more!

We look forward to having you be a part of Eco-Reps and Sustainable Clark in the future!

Yours Sustainably,
Clark University Eco-Reps
