We Are Open!
Stop and see us any Saturday thru Sept. 28 from 1 - 4 p.m.
Please come out some Saturday and take a casual tour of our museum, schoolhouse, Ott family log cabin and our working blacksmith shop (with real blacksmiths!)
We also invite you to just come out and sit on our porch on Saturday and talk local history. If you have any photos or anything of historical interest you would like to share with us or have questions about, bring them along.
We also just published our latest newsletter that was sent to all members (cost is only $10/year.) However, a color copy is now available to all. Just click Spring Newsletter
There is no admission charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. (All our funding comes from donations and from memberships.)
Founded in 1970, to save Clare County's first school building, our Society's mission is to preserve, advance, and disseminate knowledge of the history of Clare County and surrounding area.
Our museum complex located at 7050 S. Eberhart Rd (at Dover Rd) consists of the Clare County Historical Museum the historic Dover one-room school, the restored Ott Family log cabin and a new blacksmith shop that operates most Saturdays when we are open.
