Another Great Year is Over
(Except for Special Tours) We hosted another very successful Old Fashion Day on Saturday, Sept. 26 on a beautiful fall day that was more like summer. The event, always held the last Saturday in September, marks the end of our season. While we are often able to provide tours to groups as long as one of our volunteer docents is available and assist with research requests, our Saturday schedule has ended until next May.
Read our Fall 2015 newsletter and take one of our two Fall Tours that have been created by our historical society and our sister historical society in Farwell. One features Clare and Harrison and the second features Farwell and Lake George. Both include beautiful trees, farms and fields with opportunities for shopping or dining. Both can be completed in an hour or less.
Founded in 1970, to save Clare County's first school building, our Society's mission is to preserve, advance, and disseminate knowledge of the history of Clare County and surrounding area.
Our museum complex consists of the Clare County Historical Museum the historic Dover one-room school and the restored Ott log cabin.
