Breastfeeding for cleft lip babies are possible. Please seek advise from your doctor on the techniques. For cleft palate babies, it  is possible with some difficulty since the open palate does not give the vacumn effect needed to express the milk. Ask your doctor about it. Otherwise, cleft babies who cannot nurse like normal babies, they may need special bottles and teats and special feeding method. These special bottles and teats are available from CLAPAM and the local pharmacies and also baby centres. The type vary with the needs of babies. You can seek advise on feeding from CLAPAM.
