Friday, 23rd September 2011, 18:00-20:00 hrs - Culture Night, National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Benburb St, Dublin 7 - Irish Royalists and Confederates: a close look at clothing, arms and armour used during the Confederate and Cromwellian Wars of the 1640's. Sunday, 28th August 2011 - Irish Walled Towns Network Festival, Clonmel, Co Tipperary - Sword fight choreographs plus talks on Irish native clothing c.15th-mid 17thC, medieval leather-work and ceramics c.13th-14thC - these displays will be held on an hourly basis over the course of the day. There will also be a historical display of Irish Confederate arms and armour commemorating the Siege of Clonmel in 1650 when Hugh Dubh O'Neill faced off superior numbers under Oliver Cromwell resulting in a phyrric victory for the English - for more info please see http://www.facebook.com/pages/Irish-Walled-Towns-Network/137198476328993?v=info

Sunday, 3rd July 2011 - Tall Ships Festival, Hook Lighthouse, Hook-Head, Co Wexford - Claíomh will provide live interpretations of a 13thC Anglo-Norman Knight, a 16thC Highland 'Redshank' mercenary, a 16thC European privateer or 'sea dog' and a Late Medieval tavern-woman - there will be hourly sword duels and talks on clothing, craft and military matters to tie in with the Tall Ships Race - see http://www.hookheritage.ie/tall_ships_festival_2011.html for more details
