Rachel Conner
Rachel is from Neillsville, WI, home of the world’s largest talking cow. She graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in Psychology and is placed at Christ the King School. She is an avid consumer of the science fiction genre and her dearest wish is to meet the real live Harry Potter.

Christine Convery

Christine graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a degree in history and cell and molecular biology. She comes from Commerce Township, MI and is excited to experience Detroit from the inside. For this year of service, Christine will work at Neighborhood Service Organization's Life Choices division, where Wayne residents with developmental disabilities can participate in programs and therapies to learn and grow.

Ashley Hansen
Ashley Hansen is from Camarillo California. She graduated with her bachelors in English from the University of California, Riverside in 2012. For the past year, she has been volunteer teaching at an alternative high school in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky - teaching school in a " holler" is an experience unlike any other. She will be working with NSO's Older Adult Services while in Detroit, and she is looking forward to the experience. It is her dream to volunteer in an AIDS clinic in Tanzania, the DRC, or South Africa before attending graduate school to study paleoepidemiology.

Laura Nicklay
Laura Nicklay is from Winona, MN. She just graduated from the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University with a degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement for middle school mathematics. In Detroit, she will be teaching fourth grade at Christ the King School. She love spending time outdoors and playing the piano. A fun fact about her is that she spent four months living in Guatemala last year. She is so excited to start her new adventure in Detroit!
