When does it end?

Students are not responding to core instruction.  Formal, targeted interventions are needed.  Supplemental instruction is in addition to core instruction and occurs in the classroom.

 

After-school Math Academy and Summer Math and Reading Academy are also considered Tier 2 interventions.

Small Group

2 – 3 x per week

 

20 – 30 minutes

 

 

Monitor progress every week or bi-weekly.

Fill out a Tier 2 plan.

 

Use the Tier 2 plan form to log interventions and progress monitoring data.

Continue for 6 – 8 weeks.

 

If the student is making progress, continue Tier 2 or return to Tier 1.

 

If the student is not making progress, meet with Data Coaches to revise Tier 2 plan and/or refer to Tier 3.

Before Moving to Tier 3:

·       Review student file / history.

·       Schedule a meeting with Literacy/Math Data Coaches and Special Ed. Teacher to develop Tier 3 plan.

·      Contact home and share progress monitoring data.
