I am Carrie Katz and I currently am in my fifth year teaching at Dirksen school.  This year is my 20th year teaching for the Chicago Public Schools as both a general and special education teacher.  I've also been a Case Manager, an Response to Intervention specialist and a Middle School Lead Teacher.  I've taught 7th and 8th grade math for the majority of my instructional experiences, but I am also certified to teach science, language arts and social studies in all grade levels as well as special education.  In 2002 I became a Nationally Board Certified teacher and have since renewed my certification in 2012.  I have my type 75, which means I am certified as an educational administrator.  My Masters in the Arts of Teaching is from National-Louis University and my undergraduate degree, in Psychology, is from the University of Kansas.  I'm a Jayhawk through and through...ROCK CHALK!
