Civil War Study Group Picks Poster 2018 Contest Winners

As in previous years, members of Civil War Study Group (CWSG) at Lake of the Woods offered to be judges for the 4thGrade history poster contests at Locust Grove Elementary and Lightfoot Elementary Schools.

This year on May 1, under the leadership of CWSG Board Member Allie Felder, 13 volunteers stepped forward to judge close to 200 posters at the two schools.

On May 8 in the Clubhouse, CWSG hosted a reception, with cake, cookies and lemonade, for the 40 blue ribbon winners from Locust Grove and the 17 blue ribbon winners from Lightfoot, and their families.  Volunteers from the Wilderness ‘Tiques, led by Helen Brewer, served the refreshments before and after presentation of the awards.
