JACK PHEND, Vice President: B.A., Valparaiso University, M.A., Northwestern University in Theatre Arts; U.S. Army veteran; Professor Emeritus in Theatre with 34 years of teaching and research in higher education; special emphases in theatre history and literature. Experience in theatre performance, direction, and design. Also taught in Costa Rica and England. Currently an interpreter at Ellwood Manor; resident at Lake of the Woods since 2012.

National Park Service researcher and free-lance writer: books, articles and monographs dealing with genealogy, local Civil War history, Medal of Honor recipients; a local cemetery; Fredericksburg National Cemetery; etc. At LOW since 2003.   
BOGGS WRIGHT, Treasurer: BA with Distinction in Economics and Master of Education (UVA); Doctor of Education (GWU).  39 year career as an educator in the public schools of Virginia; retired from Fairfax County Public Schools  Full-time resident at LOW since 2005. 
ALLIE C. FELDER III, Director:  B.A. Political Science (Yale U.), M.S. International Relations (Salve Regina U.), M.S. National Security Studies (Naval War College), M.B.A. (George Washington U.).  LtCol USMC (Ret.): Operational logistician (25 years), Commanding Officer. Project Management Professional (PMP).  Defense consultant (16 years) supporting Department of Defense and Marine Corps.  Scoutmaster/Scouter.  Long term interest in military history (Napoleonic, British Colonial, WW I, WW II, Civil War). Lake of the Woods full time resident since 2015, owner since 2008.  Voting member on Planning and Lakes Committees.   
ROBERT H. (Bob) JOHNSON, DirectorFOUNDING MEMBER!  BA Business Administration/Automatic Data Processing, George Washington University. 40 years in private businesses, 20 years in Federal Government (IT). Retired in 2007. Full time LOW resident since July 2006. Author of “Walking in their Footsteps” series of papers on the Wilderness Battlefield. Volunteer for NPS/VIP as leader of Ellwood and Wilderness Battlefield Grounds Force 9 years. Wrote History and Driving Tour of LOW. Co-author of Tracks through time, a Railfan driving tour of Orange County.   

GREGORY MAJOR:  Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Greg received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Edwards University in 1974, with Honors.  He worked for the FBI for 41 years, for the last 31 of which as an engineering technician in the FBI's Technical Services Division.  He is retired and he and his wife have three grown children.  Greg is a member of Knights of Columbus, NARFE, National Association of Technical Investigators, Orange County Historical Society, and the Legion of Mary at church.
CRAIG RAINS, Past President (2014-16)FOUNDING MEMBER! Craig spent 37 years in advertising and public relations. B.S.B.A. in marketing, University of Arkansas at Fayetteville; M.A. in journalism, UALR; Former Captain, Radio-TV Officer, U.S. Army Reserve. Past director and interpreter at Ellwood Manor, Friends of Wilderness Battlefield; member, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order of the Stars and Bars, and Rappahannock Valley Civil War Round Table; and docent at historic St. George's Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. At LOW since 2002.

GREG STONER, Director: B.S., M.A. (Counseling), additional graduate work in Public Administration. Moved to Lake of the Woods (LOW) in March 2015 from Garrett County, MD, where he was a member of the Garrett College Foundation Board and a founding Board member of the Garrett Institute for Lifelong Learning of Garrett College. Has worked in higher education, KY state government and retired after a 24 year career in Human Resources. An avid pickleball player, he presently serves as Secretary of the LOW Pickleball Club, an Instructor in Pickleball at LOW, a member of the LOW Kayak and Walkers' clubs, a Board member of the LOW Players and a member of the AARP group.
