The purpose of this site is to track the organization and development of a pilot program to help train students and volunteers to use readily available technology and web resources to collect, map, and share data on various issues of public concern. To be the "boots on the ground" in the effort to protect and improve our environment and culture. It is an organizational project "wiki" that utilizes free Google ware  - Google Earth, Google Maps, Google Sites, Google Docs, Google Gadgets, Google Groups, and Blogspot. The integration is meant to enhance group organization and collaboration, and the distribution and communication information. It is a "proof of concept" piece for the possible development of a "template" program that can be used by a variety of community groups. It is inspired by the Google Earth Outreach program. Effort is being undertaken by the Spokane Riverkeeper, the Kansas Riverkeeper, the Center for Justice, and the Gonzaga Law School Environmental Law Clinic.
