CCGW Scholarship Program

Scholarship Program Description

  1. GENERAL: The Citadel Club of Greater Washington (CCGW) will award a $5000 Scholarship annually to a current rising Junior or Senior cadet whose permanent residence is within the geographical boundaries of the CCGW. All cadets within those boundaries can apply provided they meet the eligibility criteria listed below. Applications must be submitted NLT May 31, 2016. A selection committee of CCGW members will review all applicants and make the final selection.

  2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: All rising Junior and Senior cadets are eligible to apply if they meet the following criteria:

    1. Full time undergraduate cadet at the Citadel

    2. Official residence (as recorded with The Citadel registrar) within the District of Columbia and the surrounding metropolitan area

    3. Completion of the application form which can be found online at: www.citadelnet.org

    4. Minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher as reflected on an official transcript from The Citadel (to be included with the cadet’s application)

    5. Inclusion of two Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors and/or members of The Citadel faculty. Letters should be no longer than one page, reflect the length of time the recommender has known the cadet, and highlight the cadet’s accomplishments and personal qualities that distinguish the cadet from their peers.

  3. SUBMISSIONS: All applications must be submitted no later than May 31, 2016 and must include a fully completed application form (see file attachments below), an official transcript and two letters of recommendation. Completed applications must be mailed to the following address and postmarked by the deadline date:

  4. SELECTION/NOTIFICATION: The selectee will be notified by letter from the CCGW President no later than July 31, 2016. A check will be sent from the CCGW Treasurer to the cadet’s quartermaster account at The Citadel for use by the cadet as desired.
