Below is notice of the funeral of the father of Col. John R. Fairlamb, ’69, who was an active member of CCGW before he was transferred to Huntsville in 2006.

The senior Col. Fairlamb trained the Japanese-American 442nd Regimental Combat Team of WWII fame, and served as Infantry company commander in Task Force Smith during the initial actions of the Korean War.  He died last September in Tennessee.

My father, Colonel John C Fairlamb, is going to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors on 24 June at 1300 hours.  He served 34 years on active duty, 30 years commissioned service, in 3 wars (WWII, Korea, and Vietnam).  We would welcome your presence.

My mother is going to host a champagne reception at the Fort Myer Club immediately following the interment.  Any who do plan to join us, I'd like to know at least a couple of weeks in advance so we can get an accurate headcount for the reception.  Those planning to participate should be at the main administration building on Arlington Cemetery by 12:45 and you will need transportation to follow the procession to the grave site.
