Poppy is a happy, confident and active 5 year old Yorkshire Terrier. She loves the company of other dogs and is good with cats and older children. She is very clean in the house and happy to be left for short periods. Poppy is an active dog and loves being out and about, she's great both on and offlead but does have a terrier instinct and loves a good scent! She smiles when she is happy, as you can see in her photo, say 'cheese' Poppy!
Poppy was suffering from mammary tumours when she came into our care, she has now had a full mammary strip and completed her recovery. Her full story can be seen at the bottom of this page.
We are looking for an active, smoke free home with at least one other resident friendly dog who Poppy can snuggle up with. She would suit either a family environment with older children, or an active couple/person.
Poppy is spayed, microchipped, worm & flea treated and vaccinated.
She will need regular grooming, so please bear these costs in mind before applying.
If you are interested in offering Poppy a home please contact us at email@example.com
All home offers will be subject to vetting and a home visit, and an adoption agreement and donation are required.
When our gorgeous smiley Poppy was speyed a small mammary lump was detected, removed, and sent off for analysis. Those results are now back and unfortunately show that the lump was a malignant carcinoma. Whilst our vet is confident that the lump was removed in its entirety we can't be sure if it has had the chance to metastasise.
To give Poppy the best chance she is booked in to undergo a full mammary strip on the 24th June when she has fully recovered from her spey. She will spend her recovery period in her foster home and we won't be looking for a home for Poppy until we are happy she is fully recovered.
As funds are currently limited would like to appeal for help towards Poppy's fund. If you would like to make a contribution, however small, towards Poppy's veterinary care donations can be sent direct to the Cinque Ports Rescue account at Lakeview Veterinary Centre (01304 375571), by Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org or via bank transfer to Lloyds sort code 77-63-11 account number 69062960.
Many thanks for your continued support, and we will keep you updated on Poppy's progress.
The CPR Team
Poppy had her full mammary strip yesterday, she is obviously very uncomfortable at the moment but she is up and about today, eating and enjoyed a short walk around the garden.
Poppy has fully recovered from her mammary strip and has been signed off by our vets so this precious girl is now ready to find her new family. We would like to thank all those that donated towards our Poppy Appeal.
