Natural Language Processing and Technology Group

The Natural Language Processing and Technology Group (NLPT) is a part of the Department of Computer Science, COMSATS Institute of Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, founded in November, 2012.

Have you ever wondered how companies like Google translates between different languages, manages to find relevant documents for your query and convert text to speech (or vice versa)? To answer such questions, one must study the field of Natural Language Processing and Language Technology.

The field of Natural Language Processing helps to understand and model the inner workings of a human language from computational perspective. Whereas, Language Technology uses such conceptual models or prototypes, and produces the mature software technology such as Dictionaries, Grammar checkers, Machine Translation Systems, Information Retrieval Systems, Plagiarism Detection Systems, etc. Currently, we are interested in the following topics:
