Cigar Box Guitar Slingers - Spokane
Welcome
Cigar Box Guitar Slingers - Spokane is a free group for anyone in the Greater Spokane Area that wants to play and/or build GDG tuned 3-String or GD tuned 2-string Cigar Box Guitars.
We welcome beginners; most of us are! A Cigar Box Guitar and experience are not required. You can borrow one for the meeting, if you let us know ahead of time. Come see what being a Cigar Box Guitar Slinger is all about.
We are back in action at the Library once a month on Saturday mornings from 9:30 - 11:00 am. We are going for the second Saturday of the month when possible. We are also doing weekly Monday meetings via Zoom!
Library Meetings (Reboot) - North Spokane Library
We will cycle through the group picking songs to play on the meeting day from the CBG LIbrary Songs Index by Title.pdf available at the Resources tab. Songs will be displayed on the large screen, so no songbooks or music stands necessary!

Zoom Meetings
Anyone, anywhere with a 3-string GDG or 2-string "Chugger" GD guitar can play along.

Guitarslinger Workout Volume 1
If you want to improve your rhythm (strumming skills), this is a great place to start. I am still completing videos to fill out the worksheet (at the Resources Tab), but there is plenty to keep you busy. Both of our go to strum patterns, the Johnny Cash and Calypso, are there! You just tap (or click) on the strum title for the intro video and tap (or click) the numbers to the right for the 1-minute video at that speed.
Pocket Songs
A cigar box guitar slinger should always be ready to accept the challenge after receiving remarks along the lines of “Pretty cool guitar. Can you play me a song?” Work on having several "Pocket Songs" you can pull out of your pocket and play on demand. Start with some short easy ones!
