Boy Scout of America's goal is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development and
self-reliance through participation in outdoor activities & educational programs.
Boys learn Scouting values such as trustworthiness, good citizenship
and outdoors skills through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, hiking and community service.
Boy Scouts is for boys ages 11 to 17.
We have a weekly Patrol meeting which is boy driven, with a Troop meeting to follow.
The purpose is to allow the boys to become self sufficient and learn leadership skills.
Scouts will work on earning merit badges that range from first aid, home repairs, electronics, reading, art,
emergency preparedness, fishing, citizenship in the community, gardening cooking and more...
Boy Scouts learn to use the ideals of the Scout Oath, the Scout Law, the Scout Motto, and the Scout Slogan.
They wear a uniform and work together in patrols, with an elected patrol leader.
Scouts share responsibilities.
The advancement system provides opportunity for personal growth and self-reliance.
Scouts interact with adult leaders who act as role models and mentors.
The Scouts help plan their activities within the troop and participate in community service.
The Scout Oath
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country;
To obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake
and morally straight.
Do a good turn daily
As an American, I will do my best to be clean in my
outdoor manners, be careful with fire,
be considerate in the outdoors, and be conservation-minded.
