Welcome to

Hilo Coast United Church of Christ

Our mission is to spread God's Aloha

Having monitored the reports of Covid-19 spreading here on Hawaii Island, and in full consideration of the health and well-being of our fellowship and the wider community, Sokabe Chapel will be closed for worship until further notice.

During the month of October Pastor Joe Medlin will be hosting a video worship service while the Chapel is closed.

“Grateful Hearts”

In our sermon today, Pastor Joe encourages us to live our lives with grateful hearts, reminding us that every day and every moment are gifts from our loving God. During Keiki Time, Sue White shares her gratitude for our kupuna (honored elders)—namely, the wayfinders of our church and beyond, who help guide not only themselves but also others through their mere presence (whether in spirit or in person). We’re uplifted even further through Anthony Maroudas’ musical compositions and Jennifer Whetstone’s lay readership.

Our gratitude extends to all of us and our efforts to worship together during these unprecedented times.
