Introduction

I am an associate professor with the Department of IT Engineering at Sookmyung Women's University, Korea. Before that, I was an assistant professor with Gachon University (Korea), an adjunct professor with Hansung University (Korea), a lecturer with Korea University (Korea), a technical advisor at Culture Maker (Korea), Chief Technical Officer at Ntros (Korea), a technical staff member at ICUBE (Korea) and a research assistant at National Center for Supercomputing Applications (Illinois, US). I received a Ph.D under the supervision of Professor Kyuseok Shim in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University in 2010. I received a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Seoul National University in 1996 and an M.S. degree in Cognitive Science from Seoul National University in 1998. My graduate study was supported by Seoul National University, the Korean Government Engineering Scholarship, Microsoft Research Asia and National Center for Supercomputing Applications. My research has been in the areas of crowdsourcing, active learning, data mining, web mining, cloud computing, stream data processing, and bioinformatics.
