The Colt Club will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in room 207 from 2:40-3:40pm.

 

Attention seniors: caps and gowns will be handed out Monday, May 17th. Outstanding fees must be paid in order for you to receive your. See Mrs. Venus if you have any questions.

 

Attention! Tie Dye for Tigers is a go! Mrs. Skowronski’s class is raising money to save a tiger. Please buy a tie dye T shirt for only $5.00 to support this goal. Or pay $2:50 and bring our own shirt. Orders will be taken this week during lunch. Shirts can be picked up in the cafeteria when they are finished. Thank you and “Lets Save a Tiger!”

 

Attention seniors! The yearbook is in need of old photos! It can be pictures from elementary or middle school...or maybe the old birthday party shots. We have 2 pages to fill with memories from your past. Please give the photos to Mrs. Swain in room 907 or to the office by MONDAY, MAY 17th! If you would like the photo returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your name on the back of the photos. Thanks for your help!

 

FIFTH ANNUAL CLOVERLEAF SENIOR FUN NIGHT

On Friday May 14th, Student Council is planning to have the Fifth Annual Cloverleaf Senior Fun Night.   This night would be an opportunity for seniors to spend time together in a safe, fun environment.  The Fun Night will last from 7:00 pm to 10:00 p.m.  We will have food, movies, games, music, and many fun activities.  This night will give everyone a chance to reflect on the memories, make new ones, and simply spend time together before going off into the "real world."

 

Attention class of 2011: For those juniors who missed the recent assembly given by Woodard Photographic, please visit the high school office for more information. Congratulations to all students who will be receiving an Academic Letter Award this year!  The Academic Letter Awards Program will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010, beginning at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. 

 

 Attention seniors: IF you haven't ordered a yearbook, please see a yearbook staff member during lunch or Mrs. Swain in room 907. We will not be ordering extra yearbooks, so if you don't get one now you won't be able to get one later. Order forms are available for underclassmen too. Don't miss your opportunity to capture memories from 2009-2010!

 

Attention all VOFT students!  All VOFT forms are due by June 5th.  Please turn in any completed forms to Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Miracle in the guidance office.  Also, there are many great volunteer opportunities that we would love to have our outstanding volunteers help out with so please stop by for more information!! 

 

Attention seniors:  If you have been notified in writing that you will be receiving a scholarship and would like this information included in our Scholarship and Awards Program, please bring the ‘Letter of Notification’ to Mrs. Smith today.  We will make a copy for our files and return the original to you.  This would include any scholarships awarded by the college or university you will be attending in the fall.  The 2010 Scholarship and Awards Program will be held on Tuesday, May 18th at 8:30 am.

The City of Flags Chorus Music Scholarship

·          One - $1,000 scholarship

·          Must be a female

·          Must be a graduate of the Class of 2010

·          Must pursue a career in music or music education

·          Must write a personal letter explaining ‘you’ and why you should be considered for this scholarship

·          Must submit one letter of reference from a teacher

·          Application is available in the guidance office

·          Application must be mailed to:  Barbara Barden, 279 W. Ohio Ave., Rittman, OH  44270

·          Application must be received by May 17, 2010

 

George Sisler Memorial Scholarship

·          Four - $1,000 scholarship

·          Must reside in Medina, Portage, or Summit County

·          Must attend a four-year college or university

·          Must have participated in either varsity baseball or varsity softball during high school

·          Must show outstanding citizenship, demonstrate a role in bettering the community, and list academic and athletic achievements

·          Recipient will receive their scholarship check at a formal awards presentation in July at Canal Park prior to an Akron Aeros baseball game

·          Application is available in the guidance office

·          Application must be submitted by May 21, 2010

 

JACL/CJAF (Japanese American Citizens League/Cleveland Japanese American Foundation) Scholarship

·          Two or more - $1,000 scholarships

·          Must be a high school graduate from one of the seven counties in northeast Ohio, namely Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, or Summit

·          Must be a JACL member or a dependent of a member OR an American citizen of Japanese descent

·          Must be accepted by a college, university, business trade school, or any other institution of higher learning for the coming school year

·          Application is available at www.lkwdpl.org/jacl

·          Application must be postmarked by May 21, 2010

 

Pythian Sisters of Ohio Scholarship

·          Ten scholarships: five @ $2,500 and five @$1,000

·          Must be a high school senior

·          Application is available in the guidance office

·          Application must be mailed to: Beverly Hammond, 2830 131st Street, Apt. 5, Toledo, OH  43611

·          Application must be mailed by May 31, 2010

 

National Wild Turkey Federation’s Academic Scholarship Program

·          One $250 local scholarship recipient; One $1,000 state scholarship recipient; One $10,000 national scholarship recipient

·          Must be a 2011 high school graduate

·          Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average

·          Must pursue a degree at an accredited institution of higher education

·          Must actively participate in hunting sports

·          Must be a current NWTF member

·          Must be involved in school activities

·          Must demonstrate ability as a leader among peers

·          Must demonstrate community leadership and/or involvement

·          Must submit an essay exhibiting dedication to conservation

·          Must submit three letters of recommendation

·          Must submit an official high school transcript

·          May not be the son/daughter of a NWTF employee or board member

·          Application is available in the guidance office

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores’ Own Your Look Prom Contest

·          Ten prizes including a $50,000 cash prize and a $1,000 Jo-Ann gift card

·          Entrants must make their own prom outfit, including an accessory, with fabric and other products from Jo-Ann

·          Entrants must be 14-19 years of age

·          Winning entries will be chosen based on workmanship, originality, and level of detail

SAVE THE EARTH & HELP YOUR SCHOOL

The High School has a paper recycling bin on the campus for your convenience and to help out the school.  The bin is located in the Recreation Center parking lot, nearest Route 224.  You can recycle magazines, newspaper, computer paper, catalogs and mail.   Declutter your office and help out the school and never even have to go out of your way.
