Chris Vignola works for the IBM Cloud organization and is the lead architect for Node.js, specializing in enterprise development of cloud native applications.  Previous responsibilities include lead architect for WebSphere Systems Management, spec lead for JSR 352 Batch Applications for the Java Platform and chief architect for WebSphere Batch Technology. Past experience in architecture and development of software products includes WebSphere Extended Deployment, WebSphere Application Server, and z/OS. Chris lead architecture and design for the operational facilities of MVS Sysplex, was a charter member of the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS team, specializing in EJB container and systems management components, and more recently lead the WebSphere Compute Grid development team.

Chris speaks fluent English, functional Spanish, lives in Texas, and enjoys his family, hiking, kayaking and fishing when not fully immersed in delivering industry-changing technology.
